Meanwhile, the Odyssey and Sienna come with smaller 8- and 7-inch touchscreens, respectively, with less intuitive interfaces. The new system runs on Android technology, but it gets an updated version of Uconnect’s familiar, easy-to-use interface. Uconnect 5 is standard and includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen with crisp graphics, dual phone pairing over Bluetooth, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2021 Pacifica gets Chrysler’s new Uconnect 5 multimedia system, which is the latest version of Chrysler’s already impressive multimedia technology. Here’s what we found comparing the updated Pacifica to the Odyssey and Sienna. We’ve been impressed with the Pacifica since its 2017 debut when we named it our Best of 2017 award winner, and the minivan gets some significant enhancements for the 2021 model year including new standard features, a new multimedia system and available all-wheel drive. So, according to Consumer Reports, put your trust in the Pacifica.View all 2020 Chrysler Pacifica models for sale near 60606 The 2021 Odyssey performed as well as the Pacifica, but the Chrysler minivan has experienced fewer reported trouble spots. When it came to owner satisfaction, the Honda’s minivan scored a dismal 38 out of 100. The electrical system caused problems from 2017 to 2019, and the electronics had issues from 2018 to 2020. The main issues the Odyssey has seen in recent years are from the electrical system and in-car electronics, which aren’t exactly cheap to fix in most cases. But two issues seemed to have cleared up. ![]() The engine caused problems from 2011 to 2013. The Odyssey struggled with climate system concerns from 2004 to 2009. But most of its problems have been more serious than the Chrysler Pacifica’s. The Honda Odyssey has also experienced its share of issues. It earned an owner satisfaction score of 50 out of 100, which might not seem great, but it’s better than the Odyssey’s. However, there were far fewer complaints about the 20 Pacificas. Some of these problems persisted in the 2018 model. It saw issues with the climate system, suspension, paint/trim, power equipment, and in-car electronics. So, for now, CR looks at problems in past model years.Ĭonsumer Reports began gathering information on the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, which turned out to be a less than stellar model year. Why so low? It’s too early to tell which 2021 model will ultimately rank better in dependability. Consumer Reports gives each a rating of 2 out of 5. And the same is true for their predicted reliability. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey are neck-and-neck in features and performance. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the hybrid version, which takes longer on dry stops. It can stop in fairly short distances in both wet and dry conditions. The Chrysler Pacifica is also great at braking. CR’s model took eight seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. For highway driving, it performs much better with 33 mpg.Ī 287 hp, 3.6-liter V6, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, powers the Pacifica. It gets a disappointing 13 mpg on city roads. When it comes to saving money on gas, the Pacifica earns a 3 out of 5 in fuel economy from Consumer Reports. There’s also tons of cargo space for storing large items, especially if you use the Pacifica’s handy Stow ‘n Go feature to store the rear seats in the floor. You can fit plenty of personal items, such as cell phones, loose change, and sunglasses, in several nooks throughout this minivan. A post shared by Chrysler of the Chrysler Pacifica’s most useful features is its cargo/storage area, the perfect amount of space for a family.
